THE patient participation group (PPG) for Okehampton Medical Centre is holding a coffee morning on Saturday, June 3 to raise funds for the centre.
The PPG often raises funds for extra equipment for the medical centre that the NHS can’t pay for. The group is currently raising money for a ’cardio call’ machine, which can be lent to patients following palpitation episodes. The machine records the next episode and helps the doctor decide on the most appropriate treatment as soon as the machine is returned.
The coffee morning starts at 10am in the Charter Hall. The PPG act as the pathway between the medical centre and its patients, holding regular meetings with the practice manager to raise concerns about the medical centre.
At the coffee morning, medical centre staff will be on hand to answer any questions about the medical centre and its services.
