THE Friends of Okehampton Library are looking for anyone interested in the running of the library to attend the annual meeting on July 16.

The friends raise money to pay for extras that the library cannot pay for out of its own budget.

They help to pay for prizes for the Summer Reading Challenge, a promotion to get children reading through the school holidays.

They also put money towards providing refreshments for the library's memory clinic, and help to fund the visit of guest speakers.

The team has around 15 members at present, but is looking to recruit more to help raise funds throughout the year.

One of the group's upcoming events is the Okehampton Show, sharing a stand with West Devon Connect.

The meeting starts at 2.30pm in the library, and all are welcome to attend and find out more about the friends.
