THE Okehampton Hockey Club is thriving at the moment, with lots of youngsters taking part in the weekly training sessions.

The club currently has around 50 junior members registered with the club, who train on Saturday mornings on the all-weather pitches in Simmons Park. Children in Years 6 and 7 train from 9.30am to 10.30am, with youngster in Year 8 and above training from 10.30am to 11.30am.

The club has under 12s boys and girls teams in the Devon League, and a boys team in the under 14s league.

Treasurer Richard Jones said: 'The club is doing very well, and things with the junior teams are going great.

'The kids love coming along on Saturdays and really seem to enjoy the sessions and game, which is great.'
