SAMPFORD Courtenay and Honeychurch flower, produce and craft show was held on Saturday, August 20 at Sampford Courtenay Village Hall.
There were 438 entries from 47 exhibitors, including three first-time entrants.
Entries were admired in the afternoon and following delicious cream teas a lively auction of produce and crafts took place courtesy of Bill Robertson. The prizes were awarded by West Devon Borough Councillor Trevor Hill who congratulated everyone on such a wonderful display. Mention was made of Sam Robertson who has been entering the show for 55 years and unfortunately was not well enough this year. He did, however, attend in the afternoon to cast an eye over the exhibits.
The chairman thanked Cllr Hill and the helpers and all who attended on the day. She congratulated all the prize-winners and was encouraged to see three first-timers exhibiting.
The following were thanked for their kind donations: Mark Hedges, S and P Reddaway, Waitrose, A and D Miles, the Cheese Company, Bow Garden Centre, Hayrish Farm, Marshall's Joinery, Streamers, PK Domestic Appliances, Red Lion Bazaar, Kilworthy Capers, Cinnabar, Kinderbox, John Askew, H & Q Morgan-Edwards, Carlton Cinema, A and E Robertson and the New Inn.
All profit from the show is donated each year to charity.
