THE monarchy has been in the news a lot recently, but Okehampton Carnival Committee are looking for royalty of their own — a carnival prince and princess!

The committee is looking for boys and girls aged between four and eleven years old to enter the contest and get the chance to wave a royal hand to the crowds.

Entrants for the carnival queen contest are also required. Those interested must be 12 years of age or older on carnival day.

Entries for both competitions should be handed to Krafty Cards in Red Lion Yard.

All entrants must include their name, age, address and a contact telephone number. If under 16, a parent must indicate consent by signing the entry slip.

The closing date for entries is 12pm on Thursday May 17. This year's Okehampton Carnival will take place on Saturday October 15.
