THE skies cleared for Belstone Fair last Sunday, with the village enjoying a rare glimpse of summer sunshine throughout the day.
Kicking off with two maypole dances performed by children of all ages and some adults, the fair went from strength to strength, raising a wonderful £1,695 — the third highest total ever raised at the fair.
Visitors were sustained by the barbecue, tea stall and Pimm's stall, giving them the energy needed to take part in games and browse the stalls throughout the afternoon, and enjoy the fun dog races.
Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band also performed on the day.
Organisers thanked the silver band and everyone who put in any work to help the fair go ahead and be such a success.
