AT Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday in lovely autumnal conditions, a four ball team, two to count Stableford competition was held. The winners with 89 points were Steve Browne, Kerry Skinner, Paul Ayris and David Grimes. Second were Alan Dunn, Alan Grimshaw, Sam Woollacott and Alan Jeffrey with 87, closely followed by David Shilston, Sid Sanders, Steve Penna and Gerald Bird who came third with 86. Fourth place went to Lee Pengelly, Eric Pengelly, Mark Curtis and Phil Martin with 84 points.

Wartime letters inspire Okehampton writer's novelOn November 23 the ladies played their last qualifying competition of the year for the Christmas Turkey. The weather was kind and there was a good turnout of 22 ladies. The winner was Penny Deakin with 35 points, followed by Sue Stanbury with 32 and in third place was Marcia Jones with 30 points.
Following the competition, at the annual meeting of the ladies section, the new lady captain Lin Atkinson was handed the badge of office by her predecessor Jenni Hutchinson.
