THERE is now an extra reason to celebrate the Jubilee — car parks owned by Okehampton Town Council will be free to use over the Diamond Jubilee weekend.

The town council decided to make its car parks free from Saturday June 2 to Tuesday June 5 inclusive, after the borough council announced it would be making its car parks free for the Jubilee weekend.

Cllr James McInnes of West Devon Borough Council said: 'Free car parking on these days of celebrations will add to the vibrancy of the event and will help the economy of our towns and villages too.'
