BRATTON Clovelly Parish Hall and playing field was the venue for a successful fundraiser for Devon Aid Koragwe on July 30.
Kirsty Lee, aged 14, decided to arrange a family fun day for her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award scheme for the charity. In doing so she will help villagers in absolute poverty across the Korogwe district of Tanzania to access clean drinking water.
The charity expressed thanks to everyone who supported the event and in particular to Kirsty for her enthusiasm and energetic organisation. The day raised £900.
DAK's next event is a barn dance in Bratton Clovelly Parish Hall on Saturday September 17, when the Home Brew Country Dance Band will entertain with a night of great music. Tickets, which include light refreshments, are £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
