LANDSCAPER come DJ Rob Pratt will see his dream of holding a dance festival become reality on June 3 and 4.
Rob, from Lydford, is hosting ‘Land of Light’ in three fields a mile out of Milton Abbot with several guest DJs in attendance including Ibiza’s number one DJ Modaa.
The festival will take place in three marquees over a combined space of 1,500 square feet so there is no way rain can stop play should it arrive.
Rob, who grew up on a farm in Milton Abbot, said he had always been into music and festivals but dance music and producing music were his first loves.
‘I decided I didn’t want to be in the crowd anymore — I actually wanted to be a DJ. I wanted to be up there looking down and seeing the crowd enjoying itself so I bought some decks and started DJing two years ago.
‘I started to think about hosting a small event and so I spoke to a couple of landowners I knew and they said they would be happy for me to hold a dance festival in their fields.
‘It has snowballed a bit but I had a lot of feedback which has been mostly positive.’
Last week Rob presented his plans to Milton Abbot Parish Council and reassured members that the event was well organised with full security on site.
As well as Modaa, there will be a massive house act — CASA from Plymouth, DJ Ben Remembers who has just been signed to the Tool Rooms label and of course Above Board which is Rob and his mate Callum Mabbley from Launceston.
There will be catering and a cider tent on site. To find out more go to www.land-of-light.co.uk
