I READ your article on Castle Drogo last week with interest, and was very pleased to learn that very little damage was caused by the recent storms.

It was good to read the comments from Paula Clarke, the community engagement officer for the castle, that 'we are all go here at Drogo', and that the castle 'will remain open throughout the work'.

Imagine our surprise when we visited the Castle Drogo just three days after your article was published only to find that the visitor area and the refreshment rooms were closed until February 1 for refurbishment.
