THERE will be plenty to keep residents and visitors to Exbourne entertained this weekend, testing their knowledge, enjoying delicious meals and winning some top treats.

An auction of promises and a curry and quiz night are to be held this weekend to raise money towards the refurbishment of Exbourne Village Hall.

Both events are being held at the Red Lion to coincide with the pub's beer festival and celebration of winning the CAMRA North Devon Pub of the Year.

The auction of promises will take place tomorrow (Friday) at 9pm, when local auctioneer Robert Pyle will auction off a selection of top lots, including an MOT, an osteopathic treat, meat vouchers, a fishing trip, an oil portrait, golfing experiences and someone to take on gardening chores as well as many others.

There will be more than 30 lots up for auction on the evening.

On Sunday (April 13) at 7pm, a curry and quiz night is being held for teams of up to 4 people.

Tickets for this event are £8 person or £5 to just take part in the quiz.

This weekend's events are part of an intensive fundraising year by the Exbourne Village Hall Committee in a bid to raise funds to renovate the hall for the community.
