THE proposed rail link from Okehampton to Exeter in the 21st Century will be the subject for the next meeting of the Devonshire Association Okehampton branch.

The talk will be given by Okehampton Town Cllr Dr Michael Ireland, who grew up in the town and is involved with Dartmoor Railway.

The Devonshire Association has also held some well attended talks on Dartmoor Clapper Bridges, by John Stuart, and recently held an illustrated talk from Okehampton resident Paul Rendell on West Country buildings.

In February the association also enjoyed an evening with former mayor of West Devon Dennis Bater, who talked about his life story.

Everyone is welcome to come along to the talk on Dartmoor Railway, which is on Thursday, April 22 at 7.30pm in the Okement Centre.
