A GROUP of 18 volunteers have 'revealed' a lost tor of Dartmoor in a clear-up project.
A team of hardy volunteers armed themselves with croppers and forks to clear away overgrown gorse and bracken on Gidleigh Tor.
Tony Hollander, who spent his childhood in Gidleigh Wood but now lives in Oxford, contacted Mark Bailey to ask for help in restoring the tor as it was in 1950.
Ian Brooker, a Dartmoor National Park ranger, members of Sticklepath and Okehampton Conservation and a group of volunteers tackled the clearing job in five hours, clearing, cutting and burning the undergrowth.
It is now possible to see Haytor, Hound Tor and Kes Tor from Gidleigh Tor.
