UPPER Lynstone camp site Bude was the setting for a week of free outdoor mixed martial arts training organised by Jason King, instructor of Atlantic Taekwondo School Poughill.
The daily sessions attracted up to 30 participants each day including participants from West Devon. Ages ranged from 6 to 60+ also some senior martial arts instructors from the world of Jujitsu, Aikido, Iaido, Hosin-Hapkido, Tai chi and Tae kwon do.
All instructors gave their time free of charge.
Each days training started with a two hour Tai chi session, which set the scene for the days other martial activates.

Wartime letters inspire Okehampton writer's novelThroughout the week there was one to one instruction, for individuals that wanted to develop their new found techniques, or learn a new Kata, patterns, forms or self defence techniques. Despite the differences within the systems, there was a common thread that ran through the training and that was; centring the mind and body, also balance.
The whole week was interspersed with trips to the beach, evening barbeques and walks along the beautiful Cornish headlands.
The week at the camp concluded on Friday evening with a black belt (shodan) being presented to Big Seth, one of the Jujitsu students.
Among the instructors were Niall Grange, sixth Dan Tae kwon do and fourth Dan Hosin-Hapkido from Halwill Junction.
