IAN Hayes and Christine Mower were the guests of Okehampton U3A recently, demonstrating the highly skillful and entertaining art of handbell ringing.

Ian and Christine, AKA 'Mells Bells', after a Somerset village, demonstrated the versatility of their instruments with a diverse selection of popular and Christmas tunes, every one being instantly recognisable.

Whether playing 'Four in Hand' or individually, the melodious quality and range of sound created by this talented combo provided an enjoyable experience for members, many of whom took advantage of the opportunity to try their hand.

Okehampton U3A is considering introducing handbell ringing into their extensive portfolio of activities.
