South Devon division three
Winkleigh 1
South Zeal Utd 4
SOUTH Zeal have been in good form of late and produced the goods again on Saturday with a good performance at Winkleigh.
Although dominating the early play Zeal went a goal down after 15 minutes when a shot from the edge of the penalty area deflected off Lee Gilbert and past Reg Wonnacott in the Zeal goal. Undeterred by this set back the visitors continued to threaten the home side and within 10 minutes Harley Cann equalised with a good header from a Robbie Sendacock corner.
Zeal took the lead soon after when they were awarded a penalty — Scott Hooper sent the Winkleigh keeper the wrong way and hammered the ball into the right hand corner.
With Redd Cann, Tom Reilly and Darren Gilbert dominant in mid-field and Dan Wakeham and Robbie Sendacock both having great games on the wings it was difficult for Winkleigh to get into the game and Zeal went 3-1 up just before half time when another great corner from Robbie Sendacock was headed home by the prolific Harley Cann.
In the second half Winkleigh started well but could not break down the Zeal back three of Lee Gilbert, Scott Hooper and John Halliday and after going close on a few occassions Harley Cann finished off a great move by finishing well from 10 yards to give Zeal an emphatic win.
In Zeal's previous two games they lost a tight match at Clyst Valley 1-0 the previous Saturday and won 7-0 at Crescent during the week when goals from Harley Cann and Darren Gilbert, two apiece, and Robbie Sendacock, Redd Cann and Ben Davey gave them all three points.
