Lucky Lauren Northway from Chagford enjoyed a close up look at the first of this year's new miniature donkey foals born at the Miniature Pony Centre at Moretonhampstead.

All foals born at the centre this year will have Shakespearean character names — this one, a jenny, born to mum Sally, has been christened Miranda after the character in 'The Tempest'.

The baby arrived at almost midnight on Friday May 28, and staff have been celebrating ever since.

Kevin Ginsberg, owner at the centre, said: 'Not only is she small because she's a baby, but a miniature donkey too means that she is extra cute.'
