Chagford 2

Hele Rovers 3

FOLLOWING their defeat at Brixham United, Chagford bounced back with a fine win over last season's champions Kingskerswell and Chelston in midweek.

Goals from Steve Scott, Robbie Miller and Jon de Cruz capped possibly the best all-round team performance of the season.

However on Saturday Chagford were beaten and overturned by a struggling Hele Rovers side, who outplayed their hosts in most areas.

Neil Thomas's 30 minute double gave Rovers the lead before Oscar Emanuel reduced the arrears for Chagford.

John Devine restored Hele's advantage right on the stroke of half-time. Steve Scott scored a second in the second half but Chagford failed to get a vital third goal.

The next day Abbotskerswell were the visitors and in spite of being depleted put up a strong fight before they finally went down.

All the goals came in the first half, Steve Scott and Robin Crowther-Smith giving the hosts a two goal lead before Paul Sharland's fine header pulled a goal back for the Abbots.

The second half continued to be evenly contested but Chagford managed to hang on to win 2-1.

Chagford Reserves 7

Riviera Spurs Res 2

CHAGFORD Reserves struck seven times against Riviera Spurs Reserves who saw their main striker sent off after just 30 minutes.

Chagford were four goals to the good by the time Horsfall needlessly hacked downWills.

Jon Scarry, Dan Elphick, Stuart Wills and Chris Woof had put the hosts in command, with Martin Haxton hitting a fifth just after the break. Two more goals from Scarry came before the side suffered a minor wobble towards the end, allowing Spurs in twice.

Near rivals Newton '66 Reserves visited on Friday and Chagford racked up another high scoring victory. Jon Scarry hit a double, Jamie Forsey and Stuart Wills weighed in with singles and Chris Woof came off the bench to score three. The home tally was completed with an own goal.

Newton '66 scored three of their own but it was never enough in this 8-3 win.

The Reserves travelled to Chudleigh on Saturday and a very tired team went down 4-2. Although Chris Woof grabbed a brace, Chudleigh's Simon Boxall, Dan Smith, Dave Lloyd and Jack Wilson took the goals and points for the home side.
