A PUBLIC exhibition is being held today (Thursday) for people to view plans of the final phase of a proposed link road in Moretonhampstead.
The planned route from Betton Way to Chagford Cross was first put forward 12 years ago, following a public consultation on how to reduce traffic congestion in the town.
The link road received the majority of support from members of the public at the time and was included in the Dartmoor National Park Local Plan.
Parts of the link road have since been constructed as part of the Forder Meadow housing development and the new primary school. Devon County Council is now proposing to construct the final section of the road.
The link road and other traffic management measures will aim to reduce traffic congestion in Ford Street and Court Street, which will improve the local environment and safety of pedestrians.
The exhibition will be held from 2pm to 8pm at Moretonhampstead Community Club. Staff from the county council will be available at the exhibition to discuss the proposals.
For those unable to attend on the day, plans will be available for viewing at the library in Fore Street from tomorrow for two weeks.
