THE Batignano Trio will be performing in St Mary The Virgin Church, Throwleigh, on Sunday, September 5 at 7.30pm.

It gives people in South Zeal, Sticklepath, South Tawton, Belstone and Okehampton a rare opportunity to enjoy the work of a well-known group of musicians who have each established an international reputation.

Susie Hodder-Williams on flute, Chris Caldwell on saxophone, and Graham Roberts on guitar, perform extensively with overseas and UK orchestras and in their concert together the trio will include music by Purcell, Bach, a selection of Welsh folk songs and a specially commissioned work by Prof Stephen Goss.

The concert is the first fundraising promotion by the newly formed Friends of Throwleigh Church and begins at 6.45pm with an introductory talk by Prof Goss.
