OKEHAMPTON'S charities and community organisations will get the chance to network at a special event at Waitrose on Friday, May 15.

The event is part of Business in The Community's annual 'Give and Gain Day', sponsored by Waitrose, where communities work together to tackle the big issues facing the local area. Similar conversations will be happening across the country.

Laura Grant, Okehampton branch manager for Waitrose, said: 'It's rare that community organisations meet and get to talk together. Waitrose would like to change this on Give and Gain Day.

'This is a great chance to engage with some of the key charities and organisations, delivering vital services in the area. We hope that this short event will lead to useful connections for the charities and community organisations that are attending. It's not about fundraising, it's about pooling our collective talent and experience to help tackle some of the biggest issues facing Okehampton.'

Coffee and croissants will be served from 9am with the networking event finishing at 11am. As refreshments will be served, please advise if you have any food allergies.
