THROUGH extensive fundraising and the generosity of members, Okehampton Golf Club has been able to position their second defibrillator out on the golf course.

It is kept in a weatherproof cabinet, which is available for use at all times in an emergency.

Okehampton Golf Club is now an accredited defibrillator location registered with the South Western Ambulance Service and their defibrillators are listed on the South West dispatch system, in case of a 999 emergency.

The club expressed thanks to the many people who generously contributed and those who have put their time and effort into the fundraising, particularly Gary Carey whose original idea initiated the fundraising effort and Gerry Carpanini who has trained more than 80 members in CPR and defibrillator use.
