THE Sandy Park Inn near Chagford, which was on the market with a guide price of £750,000 and owned by millionaire businessman Peter de Savary, has been sold.
The 17th century, traditional thatched inn has been brought by Dr Bruce and Mrs Tania Lumsdaine from West Sussex. Knight Frank were the agents for the property. The pub was selected as the South West Pub of the Year in 2007 by Les Routiers.
Other recent sales by Mr de Savary include the five star hotel Bovey Castle for £26.4 million and the White Hart Hotel in Moretonhampstead for £1.5m to Andrew Younger and Gary Tubbs of Hart Inns.
