FOLLOWING a recent Meldon Village Hall committee meeting, vice-chairman Owen Howe is to step down from the role.

Mr Howe tendered his resignation as he will soon be leaving the area.

Chair Courtney Heard expressed thanks to Owen and his wife Maureen for all their help over the years and wished them well for the future.

Derek Humphries was elected to be the vice-chairman.

At the meeting, it was reported income for the hall had remained steady, and the floor of the hall had been refurbished.

All annual tests on electrical appliances and fire extinguishers had been carried out, alongside general repairs to roof tiles and locks.

The committee has set the date for the harvest supper and auction, which will take place on Thursday, October 3 at 7.30pm.
