THE election nominations for West Devon Borough Council closed at 4pm on Thursday, April 9.

A total of 29 of 31 council seats are being contested by 65 candidates at an election to be held on Thursday, May 7.

Candidates for the Okehampton area seats are as follows:

Bridestowe, two seats: John Hockridge, Independent; Julie Anne Beverley Lewis-Thompson, Green Party; Caroline Marie Mott, Conservative Party; Alison Jane Young, Labour Party.

Chagford, one seat: Nicky Heyworth, Conservative Party; Robert Frederick Dunning Sampson, Independent; Draeyk Van Der Horn, Green Party.

Dartmoor, one seat: Annabel Elizabeth Giles Roberts, Conservative Party; Mandi St Clair, Green Party.

Drewsteignton, one seat: David John Osbiston, Green Party; Paul James Ridgers, Conservative Party.

Exbourne, two seats: Lois Samuel, Conservative Party; Jean Trewhitt, Labour Party; Louise Sacha Watts, Conservative Party.

Okehampton North, three seats: Kevin Ball, Conservative Party; Val Cushing, Independent; Mike Davies, Conservative Party; Tony Leech, Independent; Hugh Jonathan Norman, Green Party; Sarah Lilian Potterton, Conservative Party.

Okehampton South, two seats: Terry Cummings, Labour Party; Robert Michael Rush, UKIP; Ben Stephens, Conservative Party; David Arnold Weekes; Julie Veronica Yelland, Conservative Party.

South Tawton, one seat: William George Cann, Independent; Lynn Christine Daniel, Green Party; Ross Crosland Mallam, Conservative Party.
