OKEHAMPTON were keen to consolidate their league position with a victory over title contenders Teign.
The game started at a quick pace with the visitors initially on top with both possession and territory. Oke held firm and after sustained pressure in the opposition half, broke the deadlock with an instinctive shot from Chris Luxton.
Greg Williams quickly extended the lead from a short corner following good play on the right by Brett Lawson and Sam Spry.
The third goal from Andy Patterson really sucked the wind out of Teign who could not break through Nick Luxton in midfield.
The second half saw sustained pressure from Oke but they could not get past a superb young keeper from Teign who was stopping everything. Andy Patterson and Simon Bourne ensured Oke's superior fitness frustrated Teigns attempt to break through. Defence was turned to attack through surging running on both flanks, although it was from a long ball played by centre back Rene Raddemaker to Mike Pawsons who executed a finely struck goal. Okehampton, using wide players Josh Speak and Lawson to good effect, enabled Raddemaker to score the fifth.

CHARD renowned for their defensive strategy were soon undone, by centre forward Mike Pawsons, following good work on the left hand side by Mark Bingham and Simon Bourne.
Josh Speak extended the lead for Oke with a slick strike that caught out the imposing opposition keeper. Young debutant, Josh Balsdon stepped up to the first team with aplomb. His weaving runs and rapier reverse striking had the Chard defence stretched. Intricate one touch passing with the final cross from the impressive Balsdon saw Bourne execute a fine team goal.
The second half saw Oke start poorly and Chard quickly broke through the defence with John Jarvis conceding a penalty flick, which Chard converted.
Alex Emuss playing in the centre of midfield partnered man of the match James Rogers turned the game around helping Oke to get back on top with Greg Williams scoring Oke's fourth. Chard soon replied with a goal of their own but Rogers added a brilliant individual goal for Oke. A spirited team performance was capped with the sixth by Josh Speak.
