South East two

East Devon B 1

Okehampton 4

OKEHAMPTON travelled to Exeter to play East Devon who are lying at the foot of the league table.

The visitors took early dominance without being able to convert any of the chances they created. Midway through the first half Okehampton broke the deadlock when James Rogers' long pass found Chris Luxton who did superbly to beat a defender and cross to the unmarked Simon Bourne to put the ball in the net.

After taking the lead the visitors seemed to take their foot off the gas and started to defend deeper, allowing the host to have a few chances. However, Oke goalkeeper Andy Harvey made a couple of decent saves and defenders John Jarvis, Tim Morgan and Luke Liversidge cut out any other attacks from the home side.

The away side finally started to perform again and it was only a matter of time before the second came - a good attacking moved ended with Brett Lawson forcing the keeper into a good save but the ball fell to Mark Parsons who placed the ball over the standed goalie.

The second half saw the hosts try and get back into the match; the game stretched out and Okehampton's forwards were allowed a lot more space and Parsons tried to find Luxton only for the keeper to kick it straight back to him, he then found Andrew Paterson who slotted home the third.

East Devon won a penalty flick when Morgan could only block a shot with his leg; this was duly converted. However soon after the visitors added their fourth when man of the match Luxton ran rings around the defenders before teeing up Parsons who placed his shot into the top corner. This result takes Oke to second place.
