DESPITE the freezing weather conditions last weekend 15 Okehampton Running Club members enjoyed the First Chance 10K race in Exeter.
Neil Barkwell was the first club member home in 36 minutes 12 seconds followed closely by George Speak in 36.27, awarding him third position in his age group of men under 20.
Marilyn Cooper also ran an excellent race to finish in 00:49:15 and came first in her age group, female veterans' 55.
The other members all achieved excellent times: Andrew Vallance 36.34, Paul Crease 37.27, Roger Voaden 37.28, Bryan Friend 39.39, Jacqueline Rice 47.29, Michael Rice 47.37, Greg Miller 49.15, Alan Luffingham 49.33, Esther Brunati-Taylor 55.54, Philippa Allom 56.44, Rachel Baker 58.49 and Jessica Corcoran 1.05.56.
* The club meets on Thursday evenings at 6.30pm from Okehampton Argyle FC and now has 10 qualified coaches catering for all abilities.
