OKEHAMPTON started their league hockey campaign in the blazing heat and won comfortably. Mark Parsons opened the scoring after missing a few early opportunities with a reverse stick after a great ball through from Rob Hall. Parsons then doubled the hosts lead with a powerful effort from a short corner before the home side lost concentration and conceded right on half time.

The second half saw Oke continue to dominate and Hall had a drag flick disallowed before Luke Miller tapped in after a good ball from Simon Bourne. The visitors pulled a goal back. Parsons though sealed the victory with a carbon copy of his second, hammering the ball in from a short corner.
