AIR cadets from the 2443 Okehampton Squadron had a recent sporting success at the HMS Raleigh — an annual sporting competition.

Five cadets and the squadron’s padre, Simon Bourne, travelled to HMS Raleigh for the Plymouth and Cornwall Wing ATC Sports Trials and Swimming Championships.

Cadet Helen Dalton won gold in the butterfly, breastroke and individual medley and Cadet Joe Manners won gold in the freestyle event and bronze in the backstroke.

Both of the winners have been selected to represent the Wing at the South West Region Swimming Championships.

Cadet Charlie Thompson (Reserve) and Sgt Reuben Bourne were selected for the Wing Junior Football Team. Sgt Caleb Bourne was selected for the senior rugby.
