PEOPLE in Okehampton are being invited to take part in a Global Day of Action on Saturday, November 6 as world leaders and activists gather in Glasgow for the COP26 international climate change conference.

On November 6, Okehampton campaigners are organising three walks around the town, collecting interested residents along the way and culminating in the Red Lion Yard for a group photo and video.

This will be to be sent to the Climate Coalition to be shown on billboards during COP26 which runs from October 31 to November 12.

‘It may be that you feel our voices and actions count for little in counteracting such a complex issue as climate change but being part of the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice is one way to make an impression on the world leaders,’ said co-organiser Fran Rickwood.

‘I sincerely hope that residents will join one of the three walks in Okehampton to be part of this pivotal moment. This is the decisive decade for change! Together, let our voices and actions be heard and seen and we will make a difference!’
