Music charity, Wren Music, will hold its first lantern procession in Simmons Park this weekend (March 26) since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Musicians, school children, residents from care home, Kent House, and other community groups will join the parade which will see the lighting of giant lanterns to celebrate the coming of spring.

Two lantern-making workshops were set up to allow local families to create their own lanterns.

First launched in 2011, the parade has now become a popular annual event in the town.

This year’s event will start at 6:30pm though anyone taking part in procession will need to arrive by 6:00pm.
