ECV Hornets C 2
Okehampton 4
Okehampton continued their fine second half of the season with a rewarding well fought for win in Exeter. After a scrappy 15 minutes with neither side really able to get any kind of possession or momentum although Hornets were looking most likely and keeper Andy Harvey was forced into some fine saves. There was also good defending also from Jones, Spry, Liversidge, Bingham, Nick Luxton and Williams to keep the hosts at bay.
Oke though took the lead before half-time after Nick Luxton found skipper Mark Parsons who took advantage of a lapse in defence with a reverse shot through the keeper's leg.
In the second half Oke started brightly and looked dangerous when attacking, A moment of determination from Brett Lawson who robbed the right back and his driving run and pass found the unmarked man of the match Parsons who slotted home to double the away side's lead.
Starting to dominate the midfield Okehampton looked threatening and persistance from Chris Luxton paid off when he forced the defender into making a mistake and Parsons pounced to fire home the third.
The fourth was a freak goal and wrapped the game up for the visitors when Parsons blocked an attempted clearence and the ball flew into the top corner. With ten minutes to go Okehampton's defence failed to clear and the home side pounced to pull one back. They then got a second back when a well work moved left the keeper exposed and a sloppy five minutes spoiled what was a very good result against a good Hornets side.
