THE RECTOR of Okehampton is encouraging people to visit one of the many churches in the town this Christmas.

The Rev Stephen Cook said: ‘There are eight churches in Okehampton and many more in the surrounding villages and they all offer a warm welcome to everyone.

‘To find out what’s happening in the town churches, St James’ Chapel, in the middle of Okehampton, is inviting all the churches in the town to leave details of their services in its porch so that people can drop in and pick up a leaflet which gives all this information.’
