Okehampton residents have until January 27 to share their thoughts with West Devon Borough Council about an outline application for residential development of up to 400 dwellings on the east of town.
The plans by Hannard Developments are for up to 400 dwellings on two parcels of land off Crediton Road together with public open landscape features and a network of pedestrian and cycle paths.
The parcels of land in question are parcels three and four as allocated by West Devon’s Core Strategy, launched in 2011.
Outline plans were shown to the public in the Charter Hall last June by the developer, with 70 residents and councillors visiting the exhibition. In their planning statement, Hannard Developments said the response from the consultation was positive and helped to shape the current plans.
Following the exhibition, councillors from both Okehampton Town and Okehampton Hamlets Parish Councils raised their concerns about the proposed junction and entrances for the sites.
