THE Okehampton branch of the Royal British Legion will hold its 2016 annual meeting on Monday, November 28.
The meeting will be held in the Legion Social Club on Station Road at 8pm.
The branch meeting is open to all members. Membership of the Royal British Legion is open to all; service in the Armed Forces is not a pre-requisite. All that is needed is a strong interest in helping with the pursuit of the Legion’s aims to provide welfare assistance to both current and former service personnel and their dependants.
Unfortunately, there is an on-going need for the Legion to provide welfare assistance to an increasing number of veterans, especially those experiencing health problems, both physical and mental.
This help has a direct impact on the Legion’s resources.
It is essential, therefore, that the Legion enhances public awareness of the help it provides to the men and women who serve, and have served, their country so unselfishly.
The branch meeting will provide details of the activities of the past twelve months and future intentions as well as reports on the accounts and the appointment of branch officers.
Items for consideration and discussion at the meeting should be submitted in writing to the branch secretary by no later than Friday, November 25.
