OKEHAMPTON Town Council is extending its office hours to be more accessible to members of the public.

From Tuesday, January 2 2018 the office in the town hall will be open from 9.30am to 4pm from Monday to Thursday, with the exception of public holidays.

‘Whilst there is more and more emphasis on electronic communication, it is also important for members of the public to feel that they are able to pop into the offices and speak to someone in person,’ said town council clerk Emma James.

‘Members of staff are already in the office throughout the day and so this change will not impact on town council staffing levels or increase costs.’

The office will be closed for the festive season from Thursday, December 21 to Tuesday, January 2.
