OKEHAMPTON U16s, as winners of the Exeter University north and west league, took on Sidmouth who were runners up of the south and east league in the semi-finals of the play-offs.

Oke started to gain possession and territory but were unable to make that advantage tell with any points. Sidmouth came closest to scoring with their first attack only being stopped by the strong defending of the Oke backs.

With their second attack Sidmouth passed the ball out to the wing and crossed the line to score a try which they converted. Oke put pressure on Sidmouth and with some good play by the backs the ball was picked up by Dean Folland ran through to score to make it 7-5 to Sidmouth at half-time.

Oke came close to scoring a number of times only to be held up on or near to the try line by some stout defending. However good runs by Deane Andrew, Luke Dennis and Will Copp started to show some gaps and Dean Folland from a ruck force his way over to score his second.

The game was still too close to call even after Conor Kendrew scored Oke's third try from a scrum on Sidmouths' five yard line. Oke kept their focus to beat Sidmouth 15-7

n Oke U16s now play Topsham on April 7 in the league final.
