A KIND-HEARTED group of sporty youngsters in Okehampton have raised £500 for charity following a charity bike ride earlier this year.
In June, players from Okehampton Rugby Club's under 15s took in a sponsored bike ride from Okehampton Station to Lydford and back to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and for the team's planned tour.
In total, 16 players, coaches and parents completed the 20-mile round trip. The group raised more than £1,000, and have donated £500 to the air ambulance trust.
Alex Browne, the youngster who raised the most money, presented the cheque to Graham King from the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
The club expressed thanks to Peter Foubister, and Tristan and Carolyn Smy who acted as safety and pace wardens for the day.
