FOUR acres of garden will be open to the public for the first time this weekend in Chagford.
Thatch Cottage garden, on the road to Gidleigh Park, combines a mix of shrubs, herbaceous and woodland planting all set in a peaceful and secluded valley. Visitors can view a large pond brimming with wildlife, an orchard and take walks through paddocks and flower meadows.
Thatch Cottage will be open from 2pm to 5pm this Saturday and Sunday as part of the National Garden Scheme.
Cream teas, home made cakes and a sale of locally raised plants will be on offer in support of the cancer charities supported by the NGS.
