ON a perfect sunny Sunday recently eleven gardens in the Halwill area opened their gates to visitors in aid of the Winsford Trust.

A map and short description of each garden was purchased from the Winsford Centre.

There were also craft and plant stalls under the marquee.

The gardens varied from a small patio and courtyard garden to one with a large lake with an island and bridge.

Visitors could even meet the resident horses.

This was the third annual opening and raised more than £600. The trustees of the Winsford Trust expressed thanks to all garden owners, who made the day such a success.

Their next event will be Jazz in the Marquee on Saturday July 30, in the garden of the Winsford Centre, Halwill Junction.

Tickets are £6.50 and the event will run from 7pm till late, with a licensed bar.
