THE Chagford Tinners' Fair returns to the town on the Diamond Jubilee weekend, promising a weekend full of fun events.
Alongside the fair, held in aid of St Michael the Archangel Parish Church, there will be a series on activities over the weekend.
On Saturday, June 2 from 10am to 3pm, the fair will be held in the town. As well as stalls and entertainment, intrepid visitors can enjoy the Tinner's Trail around the town, and enjoy the shop fronts taking part in a window display competition.
That night from 7.30pm, the Jubilee Hall plays host to a grand 50s evening.
The following day, the big lunch picnic for all parishioners takes place on the Jubilee field from noon. All parishioners under 16 will be presented with a mug to commemorate the day. At 6pm there will be Evensong in the church.
On Monday, June 4, the annual two hills race that takes in a climb up Meldon and Nattadon Hills starts at 10.30am in the Jubilee field.
Children's races start in the afternoon around 2pm, with music in the square at 6.30pm and the lighting of the Meldon Hill beacon and fireworks at 10pm.
To finish the weekend's fun off, there will be a chance to relax and enjoy a cream tea at Endecott House from 3pm on Tuesday June 5.
A programme detailing the weekend celebrations will be available from local shops and outlets in May.
