A GREEN parakeet has been spotted flying around in a garden in Mary Tavy in the last few days and the homeowner is keen for it to be reunited with its owner.

The bird has been spotted for the last two mornings and at various other times of the day flying around a garden in Warne Lane in the village, eating the nuts that have been left out for wild birds.

Jenny Reid, who spotted the bird, said she had been round nearby properties and asked if anyone had lost a parakeet but has had no luck finding its owner.
