AN Okehampton couple have celebrated the birth of their baby girl, who was born nine days early — on 09/09/09!

Sarah Vinnicombe and her partner, George Ridges, welcomed baby Amelia Elizabeth, who was born at Okehampton Hospital at 9.13am.

Sarah, who has lived in Okehampton all her life, said they were surprised when she was born.

She said: 'Amelia was actually meant to be born nine days later, so it was a bit of a shock that she was born on the 9th.

'Everything was fine, though, and we are enjoying having her at home.'

The couple also have a two-year-old son, Matthew.

Sarah added: 'Matthew seems happy with her being around at the moment and she is getting lots of attention and kisses from him, but we will see!'

Amelia Elizabeth was born weighing in at 7 pounds and 13 and a half ounces.

And having been born at 13 minutes past 9, Amelia Elizabeth missed an even longer consecutive run of figures by just four minutes — that would have made her birth 09 09 09 09 09!
