spring events programme for the Winsford Trust kick off this Saturday (May 7) with a quiz night at Halwill Junction Parish Hall.

The Winsford Trust runs events throughout the year, raising funds to assist with the upkeep of the unique arts and crafts community building in Halwill Junction and the projects run from the centre.

The quiz evening, entitled 'Pasties, Pints and Puzzles', is the first of two events being offered in May. It opens its door at 7pm, with the quiz starting at 7.30pm.

Each ticket costs £5.50, including a pasty and salad. There will be a licensed bar at the event to supply the aforementioned pints.

The trust will also be running, putting on 'Songs from the Potting Shed', an operatic performance in association with Beaford Arts and Operaplayhouse. The innovative performance will focus on all things horticultural, and takes place outside at the Winsford Centre on Sunday, May 22.

The event kicks off with an early evening summer supper from 4.30pm, followed with the show starting at 6pm. Tickets cost £12.50 for adults, £5 for children and £30 for a family ticket — all of which include food. As with the quiz evening, there will be a licensed bar.
