HISTORIAN Paul Rendell will give a talk at the next Okehampton U3A meeting on Thursday May 31.
Paul, who lives in Okehampton, has been fascinated by Dartmoor from a young age. His inquisitive mind as a child carried on into adulthood, where his continued enthusiasm for the moor's industrial archaeology and wildlife led him to leading guided walks and talks. He is a keen local historian and a committee member for the Okehampton and District branch of the Devonshire Association.
In 2011 Paul published 'Okehampton Through Time', which looks at the history of the town through an intriguing collection of old photographs contrasted with the modern day scene.
The group meet on the last Thursday of every month in the hall at the Ockment Centre. Non-members are welcome.
The meeting takes place at 2.30pm, with refreshments available. For more details call 01837 54391.
