ALTHOUGH I appreciate that cuts have had to be made, I would just like to express my disappointment at the recent confirmation of the revised swimming timetable at Parklands.

For those people who are able to attend Monday to Friday swimming sessions, I am pleased that the early swims and a couple of evening swims have remained. However, I am extremely disappointed for all those early morning weekend swimmers who are now unable to do so as no early sessions have been included.

I believe that all feedback was taken into consideration and yet find it hard to believe that there was such little feedback for at least the Saturday swim, even running from 8am till 9am not to be included in the new timetable.

What rubs salt into the wounds more is that two extra sessions held during the week have been reinstated, which is great if you do not work Monday to Friday. Why couldn't either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday early morning swim run from 7.30am to 9.30am, to allow an extra 30minutes to be set aside for an early Saturday swim?

Every Saturday swimming lessons start at 9am for loads of young swimmers, thus the building would have to be open from at least 8.30am to ensure all was ready for them. It does not take a genius to work out that the 30minutes saved from during the week could be added to the 8.30am start, therefore allowing a Saturday morning swim between 8am and 9am.

Until the timetable changes, I am still attending Saturday and Sunday early swimming sessions and there are many people who are using the pool, more between the times of 8am till 9am. When they saw the new timetable they commented on what now happens to those who can't swim on a weekday?

I am a swimming member whose opportunities to swim have been reduced and yet for years I have supported the pool. My daughter has had swimming lessons and is now in Otters, and my son has just started lessons. On reflection, I feel terribly let down, especially as what I have suggested is surely workable.

I can only hope that the timetable can be looked at again so a Saturday swim can be reinstated so that 'we are all in it together'.
