THE pool floor at Parklands Leisure Centre has now been fixed, following months of technical issues.

The moveable flooring, which enables both adults and children to use the pool, had been stuck at the shallowest level, making it difficult for adult swimmers to swim full lengths of the pool.

This problem first occurred in March and the pool was closed for two days. It re-opened on March 23, however, technical problems with the shallow end flooring continued.

A spokesperson for Parklands Leisure Centre said that the pool’s moveable flooring was fixed on Tuesday (June 20) by an external company.

’The pool’s flooring has now been fixed, we apologise for any inconvenience it caused our members,’ she said.

’The classes and sessions are running as normal, including the aqua aerobics that can once again be held in the shallow end.’
