PUPILS at Exbourne Primary School had their own election day when they voted during their assembly last week.
Ten pupils from Years 5 and 6 represented the five main parties and took part in individual presentations on why they should vote for their party.
The pupils were then able to cast their votes at the end of the assembly.
Headteacher at Exbourne Primary School Celia West said: 'It's good for the children to understand how the voting process works.
'They really enjoyed making their posters and campaigning — it gave them a flavour of what it's all about.'

Angie's Election Cupcakes were a great success and caused much amusement. Some of the elderly residents were grateful to have the chance to discuss their own concerns and worries.
Bob Edwards, the candidate for UKIP. also came to meet the residents, but was only able to arrive after the café had closed. Thanks were expressed to everyone who came along.
